For the year 2010 and onward Ford rolled out more potent Shelby GT500 even more powerful then the predecessor with 540 horsepower 5.4litre DOHC V8 engine.
Shelby has supercharged and inter cooled V8, featuring dual overhead cams, red lines at 6,250 RPM, with power and Torque 540hp and 510lb-ft respectively. In city fuel consumption is 14L/100km(20mpg) but who cares when you are driving Ford's supercharged car.
Shelby is a result of Ford's continuous improvement of the icon Mustang. New gearbox enhancements, decreased drag plus a standard 3.55:1 rear axle ratio and increase down force resulted in improved acceleration for Shelby GT500. The interior of this advanced Mustang is a major improvement. It retains the classic' 60s cues but material are better and more modern.
Standard in Shelby are Ford/Microsoft's sync(a hands free voice activated system that pairs with blue tooth phones and most MP3 players), Sirius satellite radio, Shaker500 audio and manual climate control. DVD based navigation with media hard drive could be added for some extra money.
Dodge Challenger SRT-8 and Chevrolet Camaro SS has to really watch out because Shelby GT500 is Ford's best bet.
